Mission

Due to the onset of COVID in 2020; no meeting was held since 2019.

One sunny summers day after many beers and chicken wings; a small group of aged Industry executives inquired as to the status of the AFS and a possible resurrection. After numerous consultations, the previous AFS administration reluctantly passed the gavel to generate a new version of the AFS. In 2024, the Automotive Aftermarket Guild was born.

Keeping some traditions in place from the AFS and adding new concepts and formats to the annual event, an outline is as follows:

  • This will be a Membership/By Invitation Only Annual Event
  • Past Members will Automatically qualify
  • New Members must be 20 Years in the Automotive Aftermarket; with a “Responsible” position in the company that they own; are involved with, or Industry serving
  • New Members will be required to make a 3-5 Minute introductory speech
  • The Guild will be inclusive to Race and Gender
  • Annual Dinner Meeting
  • Annual recognition to Industry Leaders with induction to the new Aftermarket Hall of Fame
  • www.aftermarketguild.ca
  • All activities during the event will remain a secret, excluding the Hall of Fame recipients.

The Mission of the Aftermarket Guild is to bring committed key aftermarket participants together annually from all levels and channels in a non-competitive atmosphere of fun and frivolity.

It is also the Mission of the Aftermarket Guild to recognize current and past Leaders, Visionaries and Change Agents, preserving the Heritage of our Industry through the creation of our Industry’s “Hall of Fame”.

History

Back in the early 1960’s; two distinguished pioneers of the Automotive Aftermarket, Mr. Cliff Phillips (Perfect Circle Inc.) and Mr. Bill Cowell (RAYBESTOS Inc.) were successful in gathering a number of senior statesmen together for a dinner at the Chateau Frontenac, in Quebec City.
